The "Keswick"

Dual Processor XScale
Universal CompactPCI CPU Blade

ADI Engineering's Keswick is a dual processor universal CompactPCI (6U) Hot Swap CPU board based on the Intel® 80314 multiprocessing XScale companion chip and dual 80200 733 MHz processors. By harnessing the performance flagship of Intel's XScale™ technology in a PCI-X CompactPCI CPU blade, a wide range of telecom, 3G and wireless infrastructure, networking, and storage applications can leverage XScale's significant performance and power efficiency benefits.

Keswick supports optimizes performance with its support for PCI-X at up to 133 MHz, dual on-board Gigabit Ethernet ports, DDR RAM memory, dual PMC slots capable of up to 133 MHz PCI-X performance, and the high-performance DMA and switch fabric provided by the 80314.

Keswick is ideally suited for a wide variety of applications, including:

• Network Coprocessor
• 3G Basestations
• QoS Policy Manager
• SLA monitor

• 802.16 Basestations
• Storage Area Network Controller
• SSL/IPSec Accelerators
• Level 2 or Level 3 Packet Filter

• Blade Servers
• VPN Gateways
• Telecom Switches
• Routers

Keswick is designed to optimize both computational throughput and data movement concurrency through a high-bandwidth, balanced dataflow architecture. Keswick supports PICMG 2.1 Hot Swap, PICMG 2.16 Packet Switched Backplane, and PICMG 2.3. Yet Keswick consumes as little as one-fifth the power of a typical x86 uniprocessor blade, reducing or eliminating system cooling and power problems while enabling dramatic increases in blade density and system capacity.
