Industrial Standards

If your application or solution needs to meet specific compliance, industrial standards and validation requirements or you wish to introduce a methodology to maintain quality across your organisation’s applications with each release, SDC Systems offer a suite of certified solutions for static code analysis, code coverage and requirements management.

Avionics and Defence

DO-178B/C

For airborne systems software development, Rogue Wave and froglogic offer static analysis and code coverage for C/C++ for assisting companies with obtaining FAA approval. Intland Software’s codeBeamer offers bi-directional “requirement to test” solutions for in-house, open source and certified unit testing frameworks.

Automotive

MISRA

MISRA LogoMISRA was developed to provide guidance to facilitate safe and reliable coding practices for the automotive industry, however the Motor Industry Software Reliability Association (MISRA) coding standards have been adopted by many other industries developing safety-critical or business critical embedded software, including telecom, aerospace, defense, and medical. Klocwork has automated detection and reporting for MISRA-C:2004, MISRA-C++:2008, and MISRA-C:2012.

ISO 26262 and Automotive Spice

codeBeamer TUV badgeISO 26262 is a Functional Safety standard titled “Road vehicles — Functional safety”. The standard is an adaptation of the Functional Safety standard IEC 61508 for Automotive Electric/Electronic Systems. Part 6 of this standard addresses the recommendations for software testing and verification as part of the standard for software development.

codeBeamer’s configurable Automotive ISO 26262 template was designed to help teams reach compliance with the standard, adhere to the requirements of the Automotive Spice and CMMI models, and overall enable the development of safety-related embedded automotive systems up to ASIL D or SIL 3.

IIoT / Industrial Control

IEC 61508

The IEC 61508 standard was developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), becoming well-established in the industrial process-control, IIoT and automation industry where safety and reliability are critical. The standard presents a lifecycle approach including risk assessment, design, integration, testing, modification and maintenance and safety management.

The safety lifecycle begins with a risk analysis to determine the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) required. SIL is a quantification of the magnitude of risk reduction required.

froglogic’s Squish Coco provides full compliance with all Safety Integration Levels (SIL) of the IEC 61508 safety standards.

Medical Device Standards

FDA and IEC 62304

Klocwork static code analysis technology supports key validation requirements as they relate to the software coding phase outlined in the FDA’s General Principles of Software Validation. froglogic’s Squish Coco provides both pass/fail analysis as well as code coverage analysis up to and including MC/DC to support the testing of any class of medical device.

Intland Software’s codeBeamer Medical IEC 62304 and ISO 14971 template is customized for compliance with IEC 62304, and supports adherence to the requirements of FDA Title 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 14971, and IEC 60601. It was developed with the aim to address the special needs of developers and manufacturers of medical technology products.

Security Coding Standards

Organisations can no longer rely on third parties to secure their application or device. To ensure software security, Klocwork includes built-in checkers to support all of the leading Security standards CWE, CERT, DISA STIG, CWE/SANS Top 25, OWASP, MISRA. Klocwork also allows organisations to quickly introduce their own customised security checkers to meet the ever changing threat landscape.
